Are there any last minute ways to save money on a trip to Disney World?
I am mostly interested in tickets to the theme parks, dining options, and just general advice for a first timer. We have travel and lodging taken care of. What must I see or do? The party consists of 6 adults and two 5 year olds.

- Angeleye: this site has tons of advice for Walt Disney World for the first timer...including ways to go on a budget! http://yourfirstvisit.net/planning-your-first-family-trip/
Hope it helps, and have a great trip. Dave
- Try Disney World Tickets, you can get great discount tickets on Walt Disney World's theme Parks and other great attractions. Choose from "Magic your way" 1-7 and 10 day base tickets, Park Hopper, other options include Water Parks, Magic Packs, Pleasure Island tickets and more. If you want to see it all and save try flex tickets. Pricing is comparable and affordable too.
Orlando Flex tickets 5- park include Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Sea World, Aquatica, and Wet 'n Wild...Busch gardens is also available (6-park).
My suggestions: either go with the flex pass if you want to see it all or base tickets. With base tickets you can see one theme park for one day, why pay more for Park Hopper when you can see other theme parks another day.
You can receive additional discounts on tickets on Disney World and other Florida attractions with DW Savers Club.
For last minute you can have the tickets delivered to your hotel one day before your arrival (delivers to most hotels in Orlando area) or pick up at the Welcome Center just down the street from Disney World. Your Hotel also may offer discounts on tickets too.
How about dining with Mickey and the gang...only a few are listed:
1) Cape May Café
2) 1900 Park Fare
3) 'Ohana (means family) Disney's Polynesian Resort.
4) Chef Mickey's Buffet.
Tips and suggestions: think about how many days you'll be there, make a plan for each day and stick to it, have a good breakfast and bring snacks and most of all Have Fun!
I hope that helps and answers your question.
- apply for a disney visa card
- If you are an AAA member you can get small discounts on tickets or purchase them through an authorized seller such as undercovertourist.com. Mousesavers ( http://www.mousesavers.com ) also lists legitimate money saving tips and discounts. Any large discounts on tickets are going to come with a catch or are a scam. There is no way to save a large amount of money on tickets.
My best advice is try to save money on food. If you can, stay in a hotel that offers continental breakfasts for free. Otherwise, try to eat breakfast outside of the park. All food and beverages are considerably marked up. Bring your own snacks for the day. If you bring your own water bottle and refill them from water fountains you'll also save a lot of money. Purchasing water bottles cost about $3 each or more. If you purchase one bottle of water at this cost for everyone once a day for a week, you'll end up spending nearly $170. It adds up.
- There are ways that you can get discount tickets to Disney World. Make sure you purchase through an Authorized Reseller of Disney Tickets! I reccomend using http://www.OrlandoFunTickets.com
If you give them a call they can help you plan your vacation. I have gotten tons of help from them since a lot of them used to work for Disney.
Have fun!
- If you're going to be there a week or more, take a full day off and go on three time share tours. You can get free tickets to almost anything (or $$$) - Tip - once you're face to face with the agent, say, "I was told this is a 90 minute presentation. MY watch says _____. 90 minutes from now, we're finished, and I want my free gift. GO!" then make sure they KNOW they're on YOUR time. After 90 minutes, call time, and go get your gift! You can actually go to four in a day if you want - tiring, but worth it if you keep your cool, have fun doing it, and are courteous but firm about the "time's up" thing!
