What are some great day trips in California?

What are some good destinations/activities to do in california? Preferably 1-4 hour drives from starting point (Fresno,CA). All answers will be considered.

   Don't forget to visit the Underground Gardens in Fresno. They have a website. It's such an amazing place!

Depending on where you are in Cali , there are many great places to travel to , You have the San Diego Zoo , Disney Land , Knots Berry Farm , Many Casinos in the Dessert area , Catalina Island , Trolley Cars in San Francisco , Horse drawn carriage rides in Sacramento , .Alcatraz , Calico Ghost Town , Na-pa Valley Wine making / grape fields , Hand gliding , Safari Zoo , The Red Woods , Etc....
