Trip

I am looking for a good digital camera for snapshots mostly of my family and for trips, any suggestions?

I am really looking for a compact to subcompact camera for under $300. I don't want anything too bulky or not user friendly. I do prefer a viewfinder too. Any ideas would be great.

  1. I would recommend the Sony Cybershot W35 7.2MP Digital Camera . I absolutely love it . Perfect choice for what you're looking for .
  2. Consider the Fujifilm FinePix F30, Sony CyberShot DSC-W55, or Nikon Coolpix L6.

You'll have to check Website dpreview.com to see about viewfinder, plus reviews and prices.

Either of these should fit your requirements, and leaves change out of $300 for a bigger memorycard, and where necessary a set of high capacity NiMH rechargable batteries...... uses similar Fuji Super-CCD / Real Photo technology as my Fuji Finepix S6500fd (S600fd) I used to take these pics:

    Thought that's probably too bulky
  4. when do you mean viewfinder, it's not the LCD right?

If I were you, I'd save and chip in a little more (~$400) to get a Canon Powershot S5 IS because the camera has a TTL viewfinder that goes to your lens instead of a regular viewfinder that doesn't go through your lens. It's a little big of a camera but this can give you a lot of benefit in the long run.

However if your budget restrict you for doing so... I think a Powershot A700 or A570 IS would do the job just fine. They goes for about $200 or even less for the 570.

If you want something smaller, a Powershot SD1000 sounds good - but personally it's too small for my big hands.

    Hope this helps.
