What are some day trips to take this summer in the lower hudson valley of NY? We have 2 kids both under 11. Each year we go to Disney and its getting a little "old". Instead of a "family trip" my hubby wants to take a few day trips this summer.(or even a long weekend). We are pretty close to the Jersey border and very close to Manhattan. We also wouldn't mind traveling upstate a bit. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might interest us and especially the kids?

About once a day my hot tub trips the breaker . Where should I start to figure out the problem??? The hot tub is only 2 years old and we have already replaced the heater and pump. It worked fine for 6 months and now every day or every other day it trips the breaker. The breaker box is only for the hot tub. Do I need to book a special day trip to see whales? I am going on a 7 day Alaskan Cruise that departs from Vancouver on Sept. 10th. Will I see whales while I'm on the ship? The ship will stop at 3 ports...Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway. There will then be two days of scenic cruising in Glacier Bay and College Fjord before docking in Anchorage. Once there, I'm taking a three day trip inland, stopping at Denali and ending up in Fairbanks. I would really love to see some whales at some point.
